Second group finished

The 19 teams from the second five days expedition arrived at Kiruna in Sweden on Saturday 7th April. Except for one day they had amazing weather and good tracks all the way from Signaldalen in Norway. On Wedensday, the third expedition (of four) starts. Yesterday the first five day expediton finished! Everyone had a really nice time and here are some pictures and a day to day review from the guide Torkil Hansen.

First five days expedition

Sunday the 25th March 14 guests together with three guides went on the first of four Dog Sled Expedition 5 days. Each of the participants have their own dog sled with 5 to 6 dogs. They started out from Signaldalen, Norway and will drive to Finland, Sweden and back to Norway again. Good luck!

Out of the race

We are very sorry to inform that Tove Sørensen and Tore Albrigtsen is out of the race and will not cross the finish line in Finnmarksløpet this year. Because of the upcoming bad weather and very tired dogs they have decided to stop at the checkpoint Varangerbotn and go home. This is the first time in 16 years they have not finished the race. Thanks to everyone who has been following us during Finnmarksløpet.

Resting in Tana

Tove and Tore came in to the checkpoint Tana at 02.45 last night. Tove have 12 dogs left in her team, while Tore has all 14 dogs in his team. They are currently as number 42 and 43 in the Finnmarksløpet 2012 and have raced for 303 km.

Finnmarksløpet 2012

To day the owners Tove Sørensen and Tore Albrigtsen set course torwards Alta and the Europe longest dog sled race, Finnmarksløpet. The race starts on Saturday 10th March and goes from Alta to Kirkenes and back to Alta again. 1000 km long! You can read more about the race here www.finnmarkslopet.no .
