Combine Huskies, Hiking and Kayaking in one ultimate summer adventure

Leave your everyday life behind and take a deep dive into the Arctic wilderness. Extra small groups (4-8 guests) make for an intimate and personal experience.

Our remote campsite (car access in emergencies only) is surrounded by spectacular mountains, a perfect spot for nature photography! In the July departure you will experience the beauty of the midnight sun, and in August you have a slight chance to see the very first northern lights of the season.

The first night will be spent in a shared Lavvu-Cabin at our center, for nights 2 and 3 we provide single or 2-person tents with quality sleeping mats and bags.

We provide single kayaks by default, but you can request stable double kayaks if you do not have a lot of experience.

To give you the necessary strength for this adventure, we will bring home-made food or prepare the meals directly at the campsite. You will also have the chance to try “Real Turmat”, a must-eat for every Norwegian camping trip.

Itinerary:

The first afternoon and evening will be spent at our center. After meeting your guides you can familiarize yourself with the equipment and pack your gear. Afterwards you will get a tour of our dog yard, meet the puppies and take the adult Huskies our for a hike.

The next morning we will make our way to the kayaking starting point in Grøtfjord, an area famous for its natural beauty and rich wildlife. With a bit of luck we can spot seals, porpoises, sea eagles and other arctic birds. The day will be spent kayaking, setting up the campsite, fishing and – if we did a good job – preparing the catch for dinner.

The next morning starts bright and early with a hearty breakfast, before we go into the mountains. The difficulty of the hike will depend on the wishes of the group. Keep your eyes open for moose and reindeer! When we return in the afternoon, you can refresh yourself with a dip in the sea (ca. 11°c, perfect for real vikings!) or go berry picking. We celebrate the last evening with a big bonfire and BBQ!

On our last day we pack down the camp after breakfast, load the kayaks and make our way back to the starting point. Here we will be picked up by car and transported to your selected drop-off point.
