The only thing better than watching the Northern Lights is watching the Northern Lights with puppies!

During an evening visit to our center you can make fluffy friends, learn about the world of competitive dog sled racing and – with a bit of luck – see the first northern lights of the season

After a 25 min. transport from Tromsø, we start with a guided tour of our dog yard. Here you will meet our 200 Alaskan Huskies up close and learn how we breed, train and care for our dogs. From the puppy cages to the seniors, we will visit each station of a sled dog’s life and tell you all about our favorite sport. Cuddling is highly encouraged!

Then dinner is served around an open fire in our cozy Gamme-hut. Try Bacalao, a traditional Norwegian fish dish with Portuguese roots made from regional produce (vegetarian option is available upon preliminary request) and a piece of our signature chocolate cake. While you eat, your guide will keep a close eye on the sky outside and inform you about any Aurora activity.

After dinner, it is time to go to the Aurora platform and get your camera ready. While you wait for the lights to appear, your guide will explain the science behind the natural phenomenon. Cozy bonfires and hot drinks will keep you warm in the chilly autumn air.

Lady Aurora is beautiful, but sometimes very shy. Like with any natural phenomenon, we cannot guarantee that the lights appear during your visit. What we can guarantee is that our huskies, their puppies and a lovely dinner will make the evening a success – with or without a light show.

Afterward you can say good-bye to the dogs before we make our way back to town.
