Leave your everyday-life behind and de-stress with our Husky puppies in the arctic wilderness and watching the Northern Lights all night long!
Our center is located 25 minutes away from Tromsø and the city lights, under a dark night sky which is perfect for watching the Aurora. Upon arrival at our campsite, we will give you a tour of our dog yard, where you will get to meet and cuddle our 200 huskies. From the puppy cages to the seniors, we will visit each station of a sled dog’s life and tell you all about our favourite sport. Cuddling is highly encouraged!
Then dinner is served around an open fire in our cosy Gamme-hut. Try Bidos (Sami reindeer stew) made from regional produce (vegetarian option is available upon preliminary request) and a piece of our signature chocolate cake. While you eat, your guide will keep a close eye on the sky outside and inform you about any Aurora activity. There will be a bonfire where you can sit under the stars and look for the northern lights for as long as you like. You will spend the night just as the Sami people have done for generations – on reindeer skins around an open fire in our Lavvo-Tent.
In the morning after delicious breakfast, our puppies will be eagerly awaiting their training session. We will take them out into the wilderness around our center and then we get to work! Help us teach them sledding commands and how to work as a team with their human handlers.
Back the campsite, Bacalao, a traditional Norwegian fish stew will be served and after saying goodbye to the dogs, we will bring you back to Tromsø.
